No one can be held resposible for your actions! If you brick your psp it is your fualt, this is a warning! you can and might brick your psp!
First off you will need the proper things to do this.
1.You will need a psp with v2.0 firmware (if you have v1.51 or 1.52 sorry but you will have to upgrade to 2.0).
2. You will need to have downloaded the (MPHDowngrader)you can find this rather easy if you know where to look.
3. You will need to download the v1.5 UPDATE (EBOOT.PBP. this is around 13mb. this also is rather easy to find.
4. You will need some way of puting these files onto the psp.(USB is probobly the most easy and best way to go.
If you cannot find these files i can send you a link where to get them. just send me a private message.
By now these are the files you should all have (mph downgrader with h.bin file, index.dat file, downgrader.txt file, and overflow.tif file these will be within the mph downgrader file, and you also should have thev1.5 EBOOT.PBP file.
Lets get started with the easy process
5.Connect the psp to the computer using what ever you use to connect the psp to the computer.
6.Make a folder named UPDATE with all capital letters in the games folder. It should look like this (psp\games\UPDATE\
7. put the (EBOOT.PBP) file into the UPDATE folder. It should look like this (psp\games\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP).
8. put the file called (overflow.tif) into the photo folder. It should look like this (psp\photo\overflow.tif).
9. put the two files called (h.bin and index.dat) into the memory stick root. For the people who dont understand where to put them it is when you first connect the psp to USB then go to my computer and open it put the files right there in the first window.
10. After you have all the files on the psp go to the PHOTO icon on the psp and click x, A black screen with some letters or numbers will come up, let your psp sit there for 30 seconds to 1 min then reboot (You will have to hold the the switch for a little bit but it will turn off).
11. Now its time to go to system settings on the psp and then system information and see that it says 1.0 or 1.50 mine said 1.0.
12. Now go to the games icon and go to the update and click it. it should come up like it did when updating the psp, just follow the instructions. when it starts downloading it will go smooth untill you get to 99% done and an error will come up. don't worry its ok just turn off your psp buy holding the switch for a while, then turning it back on.
This time when it boots it will say a lot, another error but no worries just press O , it should reboot and then you set up all your settings just like you did when you first got your psp.
Now your psp should be a v1.5 if not i dont know what u did wrong. !!HAVE FUN!! THIS WAS WELL WORTH IT THANK YOU guys that made this downgrade
PlEASE Tell me if this tutorial helped you in anyway! Thanks to all the people who made the downgrade and posted it on the internet to get. This whole process if rather nerve recking because you are not sure if your psp will take the downgrade.

I didn't read the entire Post(s) above, but if you can follow directions simply enough. the MPH Downgrader will work.
You need to have PSP2.0 installed inorder to run the PNG/TIFF Hexp01t which will open up a 64k bite window. Which MPH uses to run a Firmware Changer. Causing the PSP to missname itself as a PSP1.0.
Now you can run the PSP Japanese Update 1.5. There was no need for a US version as PSP were sold at Retail as 1.5 at that time. Much like how the PSP is shiped as 1.52 here in Europe & OZ.
The update will get to 99% and CRASH! with some Error (FFFFFFF) or something like it chill about 10 Seconds then press the Off Switch and hold it for about another 10 Seconds! Now you can reboot the PSP.
OH Sh*t it's the dreaded "Please call $0NY support" Screen. =(
And the PSP will then exeucte an auto shutdown. Don't worry your PSP should be ok. Alas there is no 100% here and you should understand this before you commit a ?250(EUO) CE Device to this rigur!
In anycase you can now repower your PSP and it'll should land directly back on the PSP Dashboard. Scroll over to the Settings and lol we have a PSP @ 1.50!! =) <3<3<3<3 JOY!!

I don't know about bricking with new Games. I have not (and mostlikely WILL NOT!) Upflash the PSP untill I have no freaking choise! Thank goodness for Firmware Changers! But, several People have already reported that they can indeed upflash back to PSP2.0 if need be and then Downgrade as needed. Although I wouldn't care to keep pressing my luck this way though!
It has also been reported that this will work on the LE White PSP2.0 as well!
So untill §0Ny bust's out with the LEGENDARY PSP Firmware 2.01! ¬_¬ ROTFLMAO!! (see Team WAB for Joke refference!) I have had no problems with either the European (R4) Games: Ridge Racer or World Tour Soccer. On my downgraded PSP1.5
I've been playing Zelda for a while now! =)

Nice to see more tutorial posting in the Sony PSP discussion, we really appreciate all the users that are here to help.
We have a guide for this downgrade with pictures and screenshots on AfterDawn since the night the downgrader was released.
You can read that at: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/downgrade_psp_2.cfm
We will add more content to our guides and faq sections soon for PSP.
