How come she does not have admin rights on her own PC, if it was sold and set up with someone else having admin rights, I would suggest she rings then up and gets the username password and sets herself up. If she does not have admin rights she isn't going to get very far at all.

Many people, quite properly, do not run their PCs as Administrator.
The world would be a better place if more people would 'demote' their everyday user.
One can easily logon as Administrator to perform system maintenance, install/uninstall software/hardware, or whatever.
You can even Run/As the Administrator if req'd, w/o even logging out of your user account :^)
But of course, you will need the Administrator password...?
"If she does not have admin rights she isn't going to get very far at all." LoL :^) Yes, true.
In WinXP, go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.
1 account only, will have Admin rights by default - so there must be more accounts on your PC. Who is Admin?

Were not saying that she is stuck... All we have said so far is it is better for her to get her dad to do it...

If he doesnt know how to do it. Just get your friend to ask her dad nicley to log himself in so she can install it...

Keep us posted... and maybe we will let u know how this can b done...

Also maybe her dad has a reason behind him not wanting it installed... U know parents :)

i believe unplugging the webcam wouldnt be that hard, just the software part would be the hard part, so there is no way on trying to install the software and removing it from the computer

software can be removed as long as it doesn't remove something else in doing so.

Encourage your friend to talk and cosult over the use and installation of the hardware and software even try to see if she can uses it first under supervison and once her dad see's that she can uses it sensebly then her dad will let her be and she can uses it independaently...

Sorry thats the "Youth Worker" in me...

Remember if you consult and discuss things u may achive things that you may have thought that could never be possible...

Keep us posted...
