Do they start in and spirial out? I would guess they go the other way because the disk is moving faster out at the rim.

There are three different ways a commercial (pressed) disc is written
1- single layer .. from center to outside

2- double layer .. first layer, center to outside .. second layer, center to outside

3- double layer .. first layer, center to outside .. second layer, outside to center

The way you BURN a disc is from the inside to the outside

The formatting, booktyping and finalizing is all done on the extreme inside edge of the dye surface

ALSO, the outside edge of the DVD is the place that most errors will occur .. that's because of the speed involved and the subsequent wobble that is produced ... This is why you really shouldn't record all the way to the edge of the disc (I don't like to go more than 4300GB)

 HAPPY BURNING !

I agree with Catfreak.... only it's 4.3Gb or 4300KB not 4300GB ...... just a small correction. :-D
