Ok, so what I had to do was....
There were 3 episodes on each disc, and I wanted the last episode from disc 1, and the first episode from dsic 2, so I 'merged' the 2 dvds, and blanked out everything I didn't want.
It burned fine.
But now when i press play on my dvd player (because my 'remade' dvds wont autoplay for some reason) it just starts cycling through chapter numbers on the dvd player display, then shuts off after cycling through maybe 3 chapters...I can quickly press next and it will skip forward to whatever chapter I set, but there is no audio..
What gives? It never ends with this dvd burning process!! Just when you think you have everything figured out! So GD frustrating!!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I have to return this dvd set in a day or two.
Thanks

It might be possible to assist you if we knew what program you used to merge the two disks, and what FORMAT was used.
The two programs that come to mind for me are DVD Shrnk and Nero Recode 2. Either of them should have had no difficulity doing that job.

Hey, I am using dvd remake... the disc was ripped using DVD Decrypter in file mode.... I prefer not to use shrink due to the fact that it processes files even at 0% compression

I have to combine titles from 2 DVDs though, and I don't believe shrink can do that. I know Remake can, I just did something wrong I am sure.

Like it or not, DVD Shrink is the best program for that task. It will allow you to select exactly the files you want (From Two Disks) and put ONLY those files on the Final Disk. It will NOT put anything you don't need in the final file, and it will NOT compress anything unless it's absolutely necessary.
Load Shrink and Select "Re-Author" it will then allow you to open your DVD Drives or your Hard Drive. You can select Exactly what you want from the Disk or the HD, but nothing that you don't want. It's Clean, Quick and No Fuss!

-Marlin-,
I use ReMake to combine parts from different discs and flippers. It can be done with shrink but you know I'm not much of a shrink fan anymore since moving up to retail software. Shrink is still the best freeware proggy available.
When you first hit play on your stand alone player with the backup you made from different discs, does the 1st screen ask you which disc you want to play and have the DVD ReMake logo on it?

Mort81, I walked Marlin through the process using DVD Shrink (private messages) and he finished the job with perfect results.
Other than Nero Recode 2, I have yet to find a program that works as good as DVD Shrink for combining parts of different disks.
Shrink is darn near Idiot Proof in that task..

I agree but I prefer the results and quality obtained from DRM for editing and combining discs and RB/CCE for encoding although they are a little more complicated but well worth it.
