hi there peeps, should i even bother to downgrade my firmvare version 2 down to 1.5, cos ive heard it can do homebrew things and play emulator games, i think, if it can play emulator games, dfoes that mean it can play gba rom games on it or not, and another Q. what exactly is homebrew, can someone gimme a link which explains what it is and waht it does, also, if i did downgrade to 1.5 is it still possible to then go back to to version 2.
to sum it all up, is there even a major point or advantage about downgrading, cos you'd lose features if you downgrade, so why do people wanna downgrade so badly, please lemme know so i can gain a better understanding of this whole downgrading procedure.

People downgrading not worth the risk. New games example midnight club 3 need versions 1.52 or higher to run. So therefore you will be stuck with the like 10 only games that work on 1.50. I heard a rumor from a site that the new gta game will need version 2.0 witch kind of sucks.

There is no risk with the downgrader, unless you go against the instructions. And there are several version changers out that trick the psp into thinking you have a higher firmware version

"And there are several version changers out that trick the psp into thinking you have a higher firmware version"
yeah they would be quite useful for playing ur non-homebrew stuff but what am looking for is a version changer that not only tricks ur psp but also so u can run that version.
i have seen a version changer that moves from v1.50 to v2.0 but can no longer find it. so if u see it could u please give me the website link.
also, bad news as Sony have annouced a v2.1 that might be needed to play GTA LIBERTY STORIES when it comes out.

OK YOU DON'T NEED 2.00 TO PLAY GTA!!!
YOu get UMD EMulator and it will get rid of the "update required" thing for you.
I can play COded Arms on it on my 1.50 PSP!!! And it needs 2.00!!!
Or you could use WAB Version Changer.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

No update or homebrew is needed to play those games that require a higher firmware version than 1.5. Just use the swap method.
