Hello. First post.

I'm having a problem burning mpeg files onto a DVD-R disk with nero express 3.

I choose my video files, edit the menu, yadda yadda yadda, then I chose burn to my dvd/cd burner. (with my EMPTY DVD-R disk inserted) right before the encoding process it gives me an error "please insert an empty disk to use during simulation."

So I try it again..same..one more time...same results.

So then I insert a CD-R disk to see if my burner isn't recognizing disk, and it works (it begins encoding). Once the encoding is done it says "sorry your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disk. Please insert a disk of the correct type or modify the setting of your compilation to make them compatible with the current disk."

So I insert my DVD-R disk, and wait for the message to disapear. After about 3 minutes of waiting..it stays up.

So I choose cancel, and with the SAME DVD-R disk I retry it again, but it gives me the same "insert empty disk" message.

Could it be that the BRAND NEW disk I have either not be compatible, or may have something on them?

or do I have other problems?

O and I have burnt DVD's with Nero and the same dvd burner, but I used DVD+R disk instead of the Memorex DVD-R disk I am using now.

*EDIT* When I go to the menu about "Project Summary,
Burn To,
Write to Hard Disk Folder,
Volume Name,
Recording Settings,
"Your Project Contains 1 Title, and 1 Menu"

That Menu^^^

In the bottom left corner of that menu it says "used disk space: 0.02 GB"

Could that mean that's just the size of the file, or there is already 0.02 GB on my "empty" disk." (I don't think it is option number 2".

Thanks for your time, reading, and help.
