When attempting to backup winds of war disk 3 using decrypter and shrink I get the not enough space on blank media error. These are standard DVD blanks that I have been using for a very long time now, with no problems. Any people with this same issue or advise would be greatly appreciated.

did you try to Reauther the disk in Shrink to cut out unwanted audio, subtitles so you can have more room for the video?
here is a Shrink guide:http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup%20with%20Decrypter&Shrink.pdf
I put this link in to help you look at some settings and see if it can help you with your Shrink problem. I don't mean to say anything about your ability or inability about anything..... just trying to help out. Good luck.....

You can also ignore that not enough space warning .. go ahead and shrink it and save it to a hard disc file ... then go ahead and shrink it again

This is a strange one. After shrink, it shows that it should fit on the disk, yet it doesn't. There is not much to remove on this disk. Only one audio track (English) and English sub-titles, I guess I can remove them (the sub titles, would be rather quiet for the show if I removed the audio), but that won't get me much more space. I'll update when I find the solution, there's always a solution.

you can try a different program...... I like to use DVDDecryter, DVDRemake(for those episode DVDs) and then use DVDRebuilderPro! After DVDRebuilder does it's thing..... it will definatly fit to a DVD5!
