WinMX is not connecting...

I have been using WinMX version 3.53 for years. Last month it just stop connecting so I upgraded to v3.54 beta 4 and it's not connecting. I read a few times that WinMX has been shut down due to legal reasons. Does anyone know if that is true or not? I have been using Shareaza and it's ok but, long waits on downloads. I wish WinMX would get up and running again. It has given me great hard to find files and there is no spyware crap at all.

...I'm pretty sure that they actually shut it down. I think there main website has more details on it, but sites who have their download say that they can no longer connect to the servers. It's a shame too. I was trying to look for an album by DJ Mystik just before they shut it down. 'Tis a shame, that.

I've been having the same problem for the past couple of days. I cannot
connect to...friendlyshare.com...rapidshare.de...yousendit.com...and on
megaupload.com I can connect to the countdown but no farther

Go down the torrent road, far better in my opinion.

I always found WinMx downloads were too often not what was listed in the title or had viruses.

For p2p use any torrent site, winmx and any of those others like it will all be gone soon. Remember to use peerguardian as well, you would be suprised who is watching.

i use WinMX as well.
there is an connection patch available at www.vladd44.com/mx/perrcaches.php
just download from the above site and install.
every thing works like normal after install.
