Where do i place the roms for mame?

I ran my mame emulator but i dont know where do i need to place the roms do i need another folder like for the snes emulator. That u need one folder with % and one without % if i need tha where can i get the other file or is it different for mame??

They go in the "roms" folder. You should have a roms folder wherever your mame files are.

i tried that i created a folder call roms in side the mame folder but it dont work it comes a error and some number like (80116)

Did you go into the Mame interface in options and directories and create the directory for your rom folder? 1. Add all the files in zip form or rar files in each folder: artwork

cabinets: arcade cabnet pics

cpanel

diff

flyers

hi

ini

marquees

bkground: image for GUI

cfg

ctrlr

folers

icons: small image for game

inp

memcard

snap: files for pics of game screen

titles

Roms: all rom files and CHD files."Compressed Hard Drive File".

create directories in mame after all files are in the correct folder and press F5 to refresh game search.
