Just got my sohw-1693s today a I need to know if I need to set it as master or slave, The installed dvd writer is soh2-1633s. Should the 1693s be the master and the 1633 s the slave? The pc already has a 80/40 cable and I'm just going to add it to it.Thanks

 I'd set the burner that I'm going to do the bulk of my burning with to 'master', and (of course) the other to 'slave'

 The only thing that this would accomplish is that your 'master' would be selected automatically

Hey catfreak,
Funny you should mention that. I just made a recovery disc and it automatically opened the tray 1,which is the factory installed writer. So if, I switch the factory to slave and the 1693s to master it will automatically default to that drive?

 You are correct ... I assume that since you just bought the 1693S that you are intending to use it the most ... S o o o, I'd make it the master

The factory 1633s was set as CS. I set it as slave and the 1693s as master,butI'm showing that the 1633s is the first drive listed in my drive setup? Should i set the 1693s as cs and the 1633s as slave?
