I'm using Ridata & occasionally Verbatim, I'm not sure what the burning speed is, i think it usually says 4.7 but I just check max speed. here is what happened when trying to burn with Shrink.

As Konfused said, CLOSE some other progs and recover some RAM. 22mb left is crazy, should have at LEAST 350 MB free.

Also burn at 4x, dont select max, which is 16x.

make sure blank disc is inserted BEFORE starting the burn to allow Nero to detect the disc/speeds correctly.

The amount free is the amount under "available".

If youd like, post us a screenshot of your ctrl+alt+del so we can see what programs you are running.

Alright I got the screenshots. It took 2 because all of the progs wouldn't fit on 1 page. So half are on 1 link & the rest on the 2nd link. Thanks guys, you've been very helpful and patient. I tried DVDFabExpress today & still got the message "Failed to write DVD :16"

Well as you can see, 100% CPU usage is very bad so there is definetely something wrong with DVD Fab or one of the programs running in the background. I saw you had AOL on, close it. If your downloading anything, close it.

the only thing i can think of is that you should update the firmware of your burner.

good luck and tell us how it goes.
