Hi,
Since, last sunday, when I try to download with bittornado, i'm getting slow download rate(1kB/s). I'm getting stuck on that. I can't download any program.
I have an adsl 128kb/s. I usually got about 10kB/s-14kB/s. But now, it's sometimes 0kB/s and 1kB/s.
I have put the Windows Firewall OFF, and also my Norton Worm protection is OFF. I've tried any other torrent clients but still... I've restore my PC from a DVD which I had made a backup last time when I format and install Windows. I'm using Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2. I don't have any router. I'm using the internet at home.
Any help would be grateful, as I can't download anymore.

Hi again,
I think that I don't have to forward any port as I'm using the internet at home. I don't have any router. My Windows Firewall is OFF.
Any other threads, please?
I need help for that.

You're max as I stated before is 16kB/s..... you have a 128kb connection divided by 8 gives you 16kB/s..... that is as fast as it will go.... you are running at max speeds.....

This is not ISP fault, if you will google Internet you will see that there are hundred of post about this problem and all post are dated at 2005 October. I have the same problem which appeared in October.
I am 99% sure it is somehow related to windows update.

Thanks.
Then, if it is related to windows update, what I have to do? Update Windows frequentsly or Disable Windows Update?

Now I'm thinking that it is my ISP which is blocking my port. I know some other people in my country who have the same problem. Can anyone help, please??

Forgot to say, before testing do not forget to run your torrent client or shareaza if you have.

Ok, so, I'm using BitComet. Is it OK??? For the test, the results is :
Results :
TCP: The TCP connection has been accepted by your computer. But no answer was given to the request. This is probably all right. Just make sure that it's Shareaza using this port, not another application.
UDP: No answer has been received from your client. This can have various reasons, like that your firewall or router isn't properly configured for Shareaza, or Shareaza is not running on this port, or not connecting to the networks.
At least one problem has been detected and you probably have to configure your firewall or router for Shareaza. If you need help with configuring your firewall or router, visit this page on the wiki: FAQ: Routers/Firewalls.
What should I do now?

As I said, everything ok with your connection, your torrent app does not respond to UDP request and it is normal.
From what country are you from?

Make sure ur downloading something with a good seeder to leecher ratio: if there are 40 seeds and 50 leechers ur speeds will suck but 40 seeds and 2 leechers will be fast and also make sure ur upload speed is limited to about 6 or 7. Thats what helped me.

Thanks Ruvard, I'll try that. But I think that it is my ISP's settings which is restricting me from downloading on P2P as I know many people having the same problem.

i am in a college dorm and my bt download speed is horrible its like 2kb usually. i went to shields up .com and checkd and all my port from 6881 to 6889 were all opened. i dont know why is it so slow. i went to several test bandwidth and it said my bandwidth and speed were pretty good. i did everything i could turing off firewall and disbaling anit virus softwares but it still doesn't help. can anyone help me bt download worked for me last semester where i got to something like 30kb per second but this semester i never seen anything go up to even 5kb per second. I mean there was lot of source but the problem is that each of the source is only giving me like 200bytes or 300 bytes not one of them can even give me 1kb. does anyone know what might be the problem? I have tried using sharzaa and bit comet but all seem pretty slow. I have an window xp sp2 and i have everything updated.
i did the port tested thing for sharzaa and it says it work. but the thing is everytime i download bt is very slow and if i try to download stuff form sharzaa 's network its still slow even with a lot of source. the problem is like i said ealier there is lot of source but each source only gives me a few hundred bytes not even one kilobytes. does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
i went to shields up.com to test my sharzaa's port 6346 and it seem to be fine. pls can anyone help me
