Is their a chip for it that will allow me to play the games that you can download from torrent sites?

Whats HomeBrew?

What version PSP should i get?

Are they worth getting?

Can you use them as a gaming pad for the PS3?

Fortunately you don't need to chip the PSP. You download an emulator to which 'pretends' to load images of UMDs from your memory stick. Programs such as 'Fastloader 0.7' or its upto date version 'UMD Emulator 0.8c'.

Homebrew is a bunch of stuff made by fellow PSP users, games, apps, utilities.

If you want to play images of games then you would need a PSP running 1.50. If you buy one now you might ned up with a version 2 which can be downgraded using this tutorial http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/downgrade_psp_2.cfm

Are PSPs worth getting? If you like gaming on the go, music, videos, homebrew, then yes!

There is talk of connecting the PSP up with the PS3 but nothing concrete as to what it will do. Althought it can connect to the Xbox 360 to play music while you're playing a game or something.

1.NO chip that i am aware of.

2.Homebrew, read other forums to find out, simply that u run games from memory stick than the UMD (only v1.5)

3.Get a v1.5 the better one, v2.0 has web browers and wallpapers add ons, and u can downgrade to 1.5 from 2.0

4.Rumours as far as the gamepad is concered , but who knows

Can you upgrade again after downgrading?

I would like to web browse aswel as using the torrent files to get games.
So basically could i use an emulator while have having a v.2 PSP?

You can upgrade after downgrading but it's not a good idea to do this on a regular basis since the system's flash wasn't not meant to be written to with the frequency of a memory stick. I read it has about 1,000 writes in it.
