I asked for advice earlier in the week with the problem I was having burning DVD-R disks with the Sony 800A. I thought it was due to bad media, so went out and bought new media and had the same problem. So I switched burners and used the Sony DVR500 to burn and the 800A to play and the 500A bruned the disk without a problem!!! So it must be something wrong with the 800A. Any suggestions? I have the latest Rom version installed so it can't be that. HELP Please.

need more to go on.
i had excellent success with the 700A until a few days ago when it gave up the ghost. i've now got a Lite-on 1693S (the 800A is the same Lite-on but rebadged as your Sony).
