I have to admit that I really like this unit with one big exception, and if anyone can help me solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having problems during playback with the audio dragging. This occurs regardless of the input source (tuner, vhs tapes, other dvd). I'm recording music videos and it's very noticible at times that the recorded material is playing back "off key" (musically) because of the audio lag. I've had the same results on 2 different brands of media.

It seems to only happen on occasion so I guess it's possible that it might be tied to an overheating problem that I've heard mentioned. If that turns out to be the case then this unit is a real loser because I can't ask the networks to stop a concert so that my recorder can take a break and cool down for a while. But I won't jump to a conclusion regarding the heat issue, although it seems likely.

I'm not sure if the firmware upgrade will help this problem. If anyone has any knowledge regaring this problem, please help. Thanks.

I've contacted iLo service and submitted an e-mail request for assistance. We'll see what happens.
