I use a mac but have access to a pc. It's been a pain since most of the products created for the mac appear to only allow you to synch or transfer files to specific files. I was wondering if anyone knows of any mac product which will allow me the psp to appear as an external hard drive, this making it easier to work with the files on the duo memory stick?
Any suggestiosn would be great. I am considering buying a usb memory stick reader, but am unsure if the speed will be as good as connecting through the psp... My guess is it would be the same... since the psp is conncecting via usb already?
Dont know about macs, but card reader is a good idea or through the usb either way u still get the connnection speed the same, beleave or not i get info on my stick by putting my card in my v800 mobile phone and using usb lead for the phone!, trust me it works!!
The built-in USB2.0 Function on the PSP? Surely it works the same way on the Mac as it does on my poor 'Dowz Box. As far as Wireless FTP Transfer / Comunication, goes I have yet to try it as I made an Error between a PCI 802.11a/b/g Card and a 802.11a/b/g access Point which was what I was in real need of for my PSP. Now I gota wait till Payday again! To put the PSP v1.5 Transfer Apps to the test. =(
But I would have thought that since those are PSP sided programs that, those Programs should have been compatible with the Airport aswell...
The Mac doesn't read a connected psp at all. I donwloaded a trail of pspware fr mac, but it doesn't allow you to read the psp plugged into the mac as a hard drive which is what would be perfect since you can do more with the psp duo memory stick... I'm a bit puzzled why no one has not tried to just do this and instead built these psp file managment system programs for the mac and psp...
It could have something to do with the fact that the USB on the PSP needing a Host controler kinda like the B&W iPods in order to talk. As for useing the PSP as a storage device yes I can set the XMB (Cross Media Bar i.e. the Dashboard), to USB Mode and plug in a USB Cable that will allow me to move Files back and forth, but, not being privy to a Shuffle or the Nano, I fail to see how you arrive at a External HDD. There will soon be a 4Gib (presumably Microdrive), HDD availble to the PSP. It's going to run you about as much as a new PSP if the Infos are coorect as they stand. But, untill then The PSP is just a Memcard reader like a SD, CF, XD or a USB Stick like the Shuffle or the Nano.
What is the propose of your inqurie? I gather its not about simply tranfrering simple Data is it? What is it your looking for a way to "Dig into the PSP's Firmware"? I'm not sure that'll be possible either with or without a Wi-Fi / USB Connection...
