Hi PSP Brainiacs!

I personally don't have a PSP as I have no time to play games! but my Nephew does and I was wondering a few things.

Firstly we are in the UK, and have lots of family in the USA. We bought him a PSP from the USA about 5 months ago, so he could be the coolest kid in his class and show he had a PSP! all fine so far..

So, its a US spec PSP, and it came with one game. Can I use UK released PSP games on it? or do i have to buy US PSP games only?
I can easily get my cousins out in the US or Canada to buy the games and post them over if I have to. Can someone just provide a listing of what is what and what works where please?!!

Also, I've seen that you can 'encode' somehow a multitude of games to be played off a memory stick (1GB or bigger really). Is this a 'trick' which works? if so, could someone maybe private message me to explain easily how to do it? I'm presuming I need to buy extra software ? (like my DVD XCopy that I sometimes use!)

Sorry if these questions have been posted or stickied before, I did a rummage around in the search feature but it didn't pull much up.

Cheers for now!
Dennis! West London UK!

As far as I Know and have read as much on Sonys' Website.
The Games on the PSP are ~NOT Region Coded~!! That's the good News! However sincew you may already know the PSP can also play Movies like 'Sider Man 2'. That those who waited till last Month to get One got for free with there PSP's after Mail-in Rebate. Will not play on a US or Japanese PSP. As unlike the Games which are sopposed to be region Free. (allthough both my Ridge Racer and World Tour Soccor Games are labeled as Region 2!), The UMD Movie Discs' are Region Coded in the same tadidtion as your normal DVD Movies.

As with normal DVD's there are some workarounds to play outa-region UMD Movies on the PSP. But, given the cost fo those Buggers I wouldn't sweat it. As your Nephew is probably capable of feeding the PSP with... Videos that he's able to find on the 'ol Inter Web. Which is simple enough. If he is also old enough to understand Google then I'd be willing to wager that he might have either never updated his PSP to 2.0 in the first place or has since then downgraded back to PSP v1.50.
While true that you lose the H.264 AVC codec for Movies. There are plenty of other Media Programs that offer Dvix and XviD playback. So there will almost always be something to watch on the PSP.

Given that your MemorySitck is large enough to hold the Porgram you'd wish to watch. Not as simple as with the 32Mb MS that comes Stock. We're talking about 1 or 2Gib MS here and that'll run you up to nearly ?200.00(EUR) in some places...
