I know someone has probably posted this before but I have searched and searched on this topic unsuccessfully...

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 with a ATI Mobility Radeon x300 with 128 MB. I am attempting to connect it to a Panasonic 61" widescreen PT-61LCX65. The video card has a RGB out and the tv has a RGB in so I bought a standard RGB plug. I changed the resolution on my laptop to 1024 x 768, 60Htz which is what the tv manual recommends. I am able to see the wall paper on my tv perfectly but I cannot see any icon s, applications, task bar, clock, etc. Please Help!!! Many thanks to anyone that will help me. I have spent many hours searching for a resolution before I posted. Thank you so much!!!
