What Operating System are you using and is your C drive formated to NTFS or Fat32?

Just go to My Computer and click on the drive it will say the format. Just wanted to make sure it was not Fat32 because you will get that error with this format.

Fat32 file format does not accept file sizes over 4g, which is why it keeps crapping out toward the end and gives you the message. It will let you split because the file size is acceptable in that form. With NTFS you can have larger file sizes. If you are running XP, the standard format is NTFS and you can convert. I have converted a second drive to NTFS from Fat32 without any loss of data, but that does not mean it cannot happen. Here is all you have to do if you want to try, otherwise you will have to split. As far as I know.

Here is another guide.

http://www.tech-recipes.com/windows_tips474.html

Go to your Start Menu and click on Run and when the box comes up type in cmd. This is the old DOS format, the follow the instructions on what you type in, which should be........ convert c: /fs:ntfs

This is from Micro$oft on conversion.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307881

Read it carefully, because it will explain the process and tell you what will happen to this drive because it has the OS and is in use. You will see that at the volum prompt you type in FAT and then the drive letter and you then should get another message pertaining to the fact the drive is in use and then you will type Y

Did you give your drive a volume name, otherwise it should just be "C". Go up to My Computer and right click on it and the pick Manage, in that screen choose Disk Management, see if your drive is just plain "C" or if there is some other volume name attached to it.

Glad it worked, If I might suggest if you plan on converting AVI to dvd to try some other programs. Here is a guide and you can also dl the programs, have a look. IMHO DivXtoDVD is a much better program than NVE.

This will happen from time to time with certain files and DivXtoDVD. You can try running it through the program again and seeing if it comes out okay, or you can try NVE again. Also, AVItoDVD is a free program that will convert your file, I have not tried it but others have and say it works. Here is the site you can have a look at it.
