Thanks dRD, but that was the procedure I followed. I have tried several times with no
luck. Any gotcha's that I may not be noticing??

I am having the same problem. Also, when I try to just rip the movie it plays back perfectly on my PC but will not play on my stand-alone dvd. Any ideas? Many thanks.

I have used the guide to split a dvd-9 into two dvd-5's two times, and it works fine. Just follow the directions carefully. Read it over and over. The confusing part in that thread is they are using a disc where the "movie" is vts_02_1.vob etc. All of the discs I have done have the "movie" in vts_01_1.vob etc...Make sure you are copying the video_ts.bup and video_ts.ifo and the video_ts.vob to both of your folders. Also, you MUST have the vts_01_0.vob (what is usually the animated menu) to BOTH folders. Be sure you are using ifo edit to edit the video_ts.ifo in BOTH of your folders for the value of the number of chapters. You need to hit the "save" button and select "yes" to overwrite.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the info djdrock!!! Thought I was paying attention....but you know how that goes.... I have been trying on "Don't Say a Word" and "KPAX".... KPAX appears to have the main movie in vts_07_1.vob, etc... What I have been getting is that it either doesn't work or it freezes at the FBI Warning screen and goes no further. I am admittedly still new to this so I am sure it is just some dumb mistake I am making.

Aaaaargggghhhh....Now I am getting the splitting to work... but, it is dropping one or two chapters between the split. I made sure I adjusted the number of chapters in both video_ts files and did the VTS sectors. I am close.... I got the split to work okay on KPAX.
What am I missing or goofing?????
