another dvd burning problem with nero

I have been having problems with my dvd burner. I am new to backing up my dvd's.I have been using dvd shrink and Nero 6 Ultra Edition. It gets to 100% done with the burning process and then it states Could not perform end of Disc-at-once, this has happened five times start now. Here is the log of my troubles. If anybody can help i would greatly appreciate it

- yup, Nero's far too old to recognise your burner

- 512MB is sufficient, however you need to close down more programs prior to all dvd work

- you're burning too close to outer edge of discs, if you're using DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences, thus avoiding the outer edge of discs and notr sacrificing much space

- Prodisc are not exactly great discs, if following ALL other suggestions don't work, try better media

- that's part of Roxio software, which doesn't play well with Nero at all. Uninstall Roxio then you may have to google search for Roxio Zapper to fully eradicate Roxio.

Hey Creaky,
You do a great job in analyzing these error messages. Can you afford some time to do one more?
I'm pretty sure the reason I'm getting this error is because the firmware I have cannot write to 1-16X media, although, I'm not 100% sure. I've had zero problems using TDK's 8x DVD-R's, but now that I bought TDK's 1-16X DVD-R's (by accident) I am getting the error message.
I don't know if updating the firmware to the latest version would solve this issue. Can you take a look and help me out? MUCH..MUCH appreciated!!!
