Okay, i live in South Africa and have posted on a similar topic here before but i just want to try again. Okay my parents are going to India and i want them to buy me a psp there. First of all if they buy one there would i beable to play umd's bought in South Africa on it? And does anybody know what versions psp's are out in india and what the price is??? Where in the world are psp's the cheapest?

I didn't know they had the PSP in India. Not that it shouldn't be there! As for which Region? I think we could rule out the US and EUR Regions, so it ~might~ be a Asain (i.e. JAP), Region.

As far as Games go and as I understand it. Games are Region Free, just like the Nintendo Gameboy. So you Should be able to play any Game anywhere. Now UMD Movies on the otherhand ARE REGION CODED! So given which ever region that India falls into (try checking the DVD Region Codes), you will likely have problems playing those

Not that this might matter but I would like to tell you this. India was one of the first countries after japan to sell psp. I saw psp's there midway March this year. They sold for about 3500 rupees thats about 120 + USD I think. I saw them in Kanaute Place in New Dheli, in the underground market, lots of PIRACY going on there haha.
