You can do anything you did back when you had (if you ever had), PSP v1.5x or 2.0 on your PSP. The ONLY thing you WILL NOT able to do is Homebrew & ISO's as far as Movies go. They go under the Root Folder "MP_ROOT" Sub-Directory "100MNV01" the File(s) themselvs must be named "MV4xxxxx.MP4" (xxxxx= 12345),.
Acording to $0NY the Price will be $349.99(USD), MSRP. That's way to much for me and for what? I'm wondering if $0NY will make one of these Gadgets avalible to us European PAL Users?!?!
I'd personly would have rather had, a Flash Player (for the Webbrowser), a Means to receive Shoutcast streaming Audio & Video Media and of couse Homebrew ans ISO Loading...
Allas we can't always have what we want. Well wait a sec., there's PSP Radio to lision to Shoutcast Radio. And lest we forget thers the Tenchi Bowser. Granted it's in Japanese! The only thing holding me back from IOS Loader(s) is the Price of $0NY MS Media. So all someone needs to do is to make a Media Player for the PSP that can playback Streaming Video and I'm set.
No the reall opertunities my friend lay way back in v1.50 and NOT in v2.50. No that the reace is up (for now), to get v2.0 Users the chance to Downgrade to v1.50 I hope some of those Brains will get back into working on some new Apps., for the PSP.
Tha is untill November when it's reported that $0NY will start shiping all PSP's out the Door as v2.50. =(
Then it'll be the whole WAB fiasco all over again! =(
No you can eventualy buy the LocationFree Base Staion for ca. $350(USD), when it becomes avalible. Why anyone would want to is another matter. At the current time it's only for the Japanense and US Markets (i.e. NTSC ONLY!),. Therefore it's of no current use to anyone outside of those areas. Since Europe uses the PAL Video Standard....
