Chances are 100% that Norton is over reacting. I have the original Beata File that is before v1.0 came out ablut a week latter. It to is branded as a Virus / Trrjan. In One way this is not wholy incorrect either. Because the File opens a way to load Code into the PSP. Granted it's only in the User Space and not in the Kernel Executable Space. But, it can allow a small 64Kb Window to lauch a bigger App.. In the best case a Firmware Changer to trip up the PSP into thinking it's a PSP v1.0 when it's still in fact a PSP 2.0 with all the trimings! The only thing is now, Games' that require 2.0 will be upset as the PSPs' reporting itself as a v1.0. The Good News is no you could run $0NYS' own PSP v1.50 (JAP), Updater / Downgrader. To reflash your PSP back to a version 1.50.

The Problem is not so much the *.tif File itself. But the acompaning File(s), that you might have Downloaded with it!!

The best advice at the moment, is to suspend Norton for a time!, and scan your File(s), again with PSP-Safe. This should give you a better idea of what your dealig with. Afterwords you can reactivate Dr. Norton again...

oh yeah crxshn i think psp-safe is like psp's own nortan except it probably realizes whats best for the psp un like nortain it just doesnt know and yeah when i got the trojan it said some scary stuff about erasing things that you need to load your psp but the tif i got was from a forum in here and it worked fine but you cant trust everyone cuz i heard that the reason nortan picks it up as a virus is because some dumb f*** put a virus in one

nope actually this is the proper def PSafeP is a windows tool to scan Sony PSP executable (EBOOT.PBP) files for suspicious code.

Important Note: Due to PSafeP scanning for any and all access to the flash memory, some legitimate software (ex: LUA Player, PSPInside) that accesses flash0 to load certain prx modules will fail the scan even though they are 100% percent safe.
