Hi, I'm using Nero to make dvd videos from .avi files. After burning and putting them in the DVD player, at certain instances a loud horn like noise will happen and the chapter will be unplayable.I am using Nero OEM 6.6.0.16 and my media is Ridata 8x dvd-r discs. I also burn at the slowest speed possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

- this is the line that separates the sections of logfile. as you've pasted the whole logfile, your serial number has sneaked in a few times.

Ok, the loud noise is gone, but it seems like I am still having problems. Sometimes I will get a good copy with no problems, other times it will be pixelated at points and the soundtrack isnt in sync with the video. I have upgraded to Nero 7 Ultra Edition. - try 4x for the burns... however this sounds more like a problem external to Nero in your case (burn speed may still be an issue though) ie it sounds more likely that the problem is with whatever program you're using to convert the avi's. in particular the sync problem sounds like an AVI conversion problem, not a Nero burning problem...

Using Nero to encode then burn. Do you suggest using another program to encode then using Nero to burn?

'possibly'. is it Recode or Nerovision you're using; this kind of problem is exremely common..

are the original AVI files free from pixelation etc ?. it may be worth looking at a log from an encode process... need to rule out if the encoding process is at fault..
