ISO Image compression rates?

Just curiuos....

I know that you can use ripkits on ISO images to remove extra music and video (etc) to lower the ISO image size. But are there actually different compression levels on the ISO images themselves?

If this is true what app do you use to view and change the compression level? Thanks.
