I have a PSP and I don't have a battery for it. When I turn on my PSP, it the light near the power button turns green but nothing shows up on the screen (by the way I am using the AC Adaptor to turn it on). Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I don't know what PSP Firmware Version you have / had. But, just for Sh*t's & Giggles (Hay I'm that kind o' Guy!), I had no problems getting my PSP v1.50 (Origionaly v1.52 -> v2.0), to boot with just the Mains connceted.

BTW: Since the only way I know how to get a PSP with a valid Warrantee!, is to purchase the so-called "Value Pack". Amongst all the 'Goodies' thown in like that rather useless 32Mb Memory Stick or the Half-Meter Remote (i.e. The Pocket-sized version of everyones faveriote Deity The Flying Spaghetti Monster!),. Not to mention thoes damned French loving 'Ear Friendly!" (90dB What did Siderman2 UMD just say I COULDN'T HEAR IT AN AMBALCECE JUST SHOOT BY! Ear Frindly Earbuds!) >=(

I couldn't have happend to miss that Batterie that was also shiped with it. So what happend to yours?!? The PSP hasen't even been out for a entire Year yet! And, yes I counting from the Dec. '04 Japan Lauch Date, I would hope that the Batterie in the PSP would last at least as long as the One in my 3G iPod! Which is now well over a year old now!

I wouldn't know I guess it depends on which Firmware you have / had. It could be that if you have one (or the other), Firmware(s), installed that you may be required to use a Batterie. All I can tell you is my original PSP v1.52(EUR) updated to PSP v2.0(US?!?) (Through the Demo UMD), and then downgraded back to PSP v1.50(JAP),.

Works 100% Fine without the Batterie. I can turn the PSP on, and it boots to the Cross Media Bar (i.e. Dashboard), The only thing missing is the Batterie Bar. Probably because the Batterie is not installed.

DUH!!!

How old is your PSP?!, I would assume that it's still under Warrantee. At least under Eurpean Law it would be the minimum being exactly 1-Year fromt the Date of Purchace. So unless you've been mucking around with naughty, naughty Code (i.e. Downgraders), and Bricked your PSP, You should be able to contact $0NY's Tech Support and see if they can give you some workable answer, to your problem(s),. But, it would seem to me that your PSP was malfunctioning (to me),. Again you never did mention which Firmware (i.e. PSP v1.50, v1.5x, v2.0, v2.01 or v2.5), you might have had. I can only speak of my own experiances with a PSP v1.5 (as that's all I have at the moment!), and I can run my PSP just fine without a Batterie installed. Solong as I use the Adapter of course.

Have you thought it could be the Adapter that might have tanked on you? I sopose you don't know anyone (like a Friend or someone), who might also have a PSP, where you could try there Batterie or Atapter could you? Worst case scenario Try a Wal-Mart and see if you can con a sales Person into letting you test a Batterie out in the Store, Tell 'em your in the Market for One.

If your PSP is still young enough say less then Two Weeks (at least under European Law!) You can take it back to the Store for a replacement or refund. just tell em your Vaule Pack didn't have the Batterie packed in with it. Maybe they'll allow wou to exchange it...
