First off I would like to say Hi, I'm new here and I normaly don't just ask for help like this but I'm at the end of my rope here and I need some help.

I'm currently using Azureus 2.3.0.4. I'm trying to download two files which are very healthly seeded and have a high number of peers (something in the order of 750+ seeds with peers aproacing almost 20,000 for one and not too far behind thoes numbers for the other.)

I have my TCP listen port set to 50931 and it's cleared through my firewall (especaly since I don't think I'm even running one right now, not even the windows XP pro one.) my Max global Upload speed is set to 100KB/S and download is at 300KB/S. My internet connection comes in at 1689 kbps or 211.1 KB/sec for download and 249 kbps or 31.1 KB/sec for upload. The torrents both came from ISOhunt.com and as I said before they are very well seeded. My share ratio is well above 1.25 for both torrents. My modem is a Toshiba PCX2500 (I belive that there is no router built into that modem so port fowarding should be no problem.) I have no router hooked onto this connection, the port tests out OK and I dont think my ISP is buggy about ports.

My issue is I'm still getting Download speeds of 15 Kb/s at Max (Normal is around 5-7 Kb/s) and I was wondering if anyoue could provide me with help (or at least a clue) as to what might be causing these slow Download speeds.

I would like to extend my thanks in advance for any help I may receve. If any other information pertaining to my system/configuration please feel free to ask.

Thank you again

Ripcord,

First off, excellent post. Most do not give the appropriate information the first time and still expect help. Now...I see two problems.

You set your Max Upload to 100 KB/s but your real Max upload is only 31 KB/s. You should set your max global upload speed down to 26 KB/s, nothing higher than that or you will clog your download speed.

That is a LOT of peers, thats over 20:1 ratio against seeds. (Are we talking perhaps about the new F.E.A.R game ;)) With that much peers i wouldnt expect great speeds, you should wait it out until that number drops at least slightly.
