just got psp from ebay v1.5 it is japanese seller told me no probs but when you switch it on all the writing is in japanese the psp is a present for my son does he have to learn japanese at 10 yrs old?

I only wish I were Ten-Years-Onls again anc then could learn Nihongo! (Um... Japanese, that is!),.

No all you need to do is to turn the PSP back on without a UMD loaded. Wait for the Cross Media Bar (i.e. Dashboard), to load up. Scroll all the way over to the Left. This is the Settings Section (it kinda looks like a Lunchbox),. If the Top Item on this List is the Network Settings. Then go down (the list), Four times, this should be the System Settings Press 'X' to enter this Sub-Menu. Ok The first Item here will let you set your Username, The second, will allow you to change the Language Settings, from Japanese, to Deutsch, English, Español, French, Italiano, nederlands, português, Pyccкий or 日本語 <- Japanese ^_^; (Avalible on PSPv1.50)

You can also scroll down this list Five times, and come to the Restore Default Settings aswell. This will cause the PSP to reboot with all it's User saved Settings removed. So you'll have to reenter the Time, Timezone, Language UserName and or Network Settinigs.
