Is it a bad idea to multitask during analyzing and encoding?

Will it cause errors of any type or is it only bad when burning?

Never had any problems doing this, only effect I have seen is that it will take longer.

having multitasked thru virtually all my ripping/encoding, even having two drives DVD Shrinking at same time, in 1000s of movies i can safely say that multitasking is fine for ripping/encoding. However multitasking, even light surfing is not good during the burn phase. I've wrecked a few burns by surfing, torrents starting up etc etc. Don't touch the PC at all during the burn phase, even current burners with so-called 'buffer underrun' etc technology will wreck a burn if you mess during the burn.
