Please somebody save me from myself!!!!!!!! Have a Compaq computer using xp. Brand new. Have been on to the help guys.....Useless!!!!
My problem is that the computer gets as far as "saving your settings" when I try to shut down, then stays there!!! I have found this only happens if i use Limewire or any P2P stuff. If I turn on, use the system, and then turn off, no prob! If I turn on, use a P2P facility then try to shut down STICKS ON SAVING YOUR SETTINGS!!!
HELP!!! Have tried everything!!!! Thanks!!!!!!

*Some things you might wanna try if you haven't already...
Ininstall the P2P software, remove any folders from your system, restart, install them again and see if you get the same results...
*Run CCleaner on your system, it will clean up a majority of files
*Run spyware/adaware checks: Use AdAware and Spybot
*Defrag ment you primary hdd/boot drive
*Scan for viruses

sounds like you have some nasty spyware issues
run hijack this and seek out a website called castle cops ....they are pretty damm good:)
