Improve dvd ripping speeds

My samsung 16 x dvd rom s616 is only able to rip a dvd at x3. I have checked the drive is on dma. I have a hp 781uk p4 2ghz pc.

Do I need to update anything, or is that the best the drive will do ?

Any advice would be a great help.

Make sure you have the latest IDE drivers for your mainboard and ASPI v4.60 Build 1021 installed.

Can you provide a link to find the drivers.
I already have the latest aspi layer installed.

Latest ASPI is no good (if it's 4.7 and up) use specificly v4.60 Build 1021

As for IDE drivers, I need to know what chipset you have, if it's VIA/ALi/Intel or nForce.
