I have had my 104 for about 6 months now, with no real problems... I use meritline DVD-R's the white on top, purple on the bottom media. My drive was working fine until about a week ago, when I was going to reformat my HD, and wanted to back up files on DVD-r. I kept getting errors, and did a little searching and thought maybe I had to upgrade my firmware. When I tried upgrading, I would get an "unknown error" and it would not work. I finally was able to upgrade to 1.33 firmware. I formated my HD, and tried burning a DVD I created. The disk would not burn in Nero or PrimoDVD, it would get stuck on "Initializing disk", and I would get this error (in Primo):
"Error - 10 at Sector 816 - Disc Write Error - Comand:2A Sense:03 ASC:0C ASCQ:00"

I then thought maybe it was because of the firmware, so I downgraded back to 1.20, and still get the same errors...
Any help?

i have that same burner and it has worked fine most of the time. i only really use it to backup dvd, but sometimes it says a similar error...error -9 at sector xxxxxx. i have no idea what it means, or what i am doing wrong. can anyone help?
