Hi,
I am currently considering whether or not to buy a psp for my 10 year old son for his birthday as they look great.
but he has a ps2 and he often wrecks the game discs (doesnt put them in cases properly etc) so i would like to know if i would be able to back up psp games and keep the originals safe (i know you must own originals to have a backup) and how i would go about this. Like can i use Minidvd discs to copy them?
Preferably the cheapest option would be best!

hi the psp has different firmwares the latest one i know of is 2.5. in ordor to backup the game i believe you need 1.0 or 1.5. if you have 2.0 firmware you can downgrade to 1.5. psp-hacks.com has a lot of programs for the psp but i havent backed up any psp games yet because in ordor to play them you will need a big memmory stick. anyways the psp games are in little plastic cases that protect them? need any more help let me know

i know that the games have cases but you know what kids are like lol.
how big a memory stick would i need and how big are the games? (how many games could i fit on 1)

well i really don't know how big the games are but i believe they are from 200mb to 500mb but im not sure and there is 32mb 256mb and 500mb 1gb 2gb and soon to be or already is 4 gb memory stick.

so theres no way i can just copy them onto mini dvds or anything?
looks like i need to find some more money for a memory card lol.
i read a few other threads on here as well but not completely sure about everything...if i bought a mem card and put games on it (i mean iso's), do i just load them with the fastloader program?

i think the fastloader is for that. but remember you cant do anyof these things unless you have 1.0 or 1.5

i think i read somewhere that you upgrade to 2.0 then downgrade again (think it might have been from an ebay listing)
