I've having problems burning my DVD-Rs. I'm using DVD Shrink and Nero 6 (both the latest versions). The dvd-r are from Ritek and I'm using a Sony DRU-810A. I've made several back ups using this particular type before on this burner but now I keep getting a writing error. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need to free up some system memory. Before you burn, right click on all of those icons next to your clock and left click on "Exit". To learn how to permantly stop them from starting, go here: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56373

Apparently, your DVD writer doesn't like that disc. Perhaps try a different brand or a different disc from that bundle?

You're right, it doesn't like my dvd media. I tried Fuji DVD-R and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the help on clearing up my memory.

I wonder sometimes if its the Media disc or the way the DVD burner is set up on the PC.

Originally I had the DVD as a slave on the ULTRA DMA 100 on the same cable of the HD
I tried Memorex -R and the Pc would freeze when it started burning.

Tried a +R Benq Media and it worked.

Due to the DMA was not on on my HD, I put the HD on the Primary Ultra 100 and the DVD Rurner on the Secondary Ultra 100 and same thing PC Froze.

I then switched the DVD Burner on the IDE Primary as master and the CD
Rom as slave.

So My HD was on the Ultra 100 and my DVD ad CD were on my Ide. got the maximum DMA of all my devices and those Memorex media discs are working.

So explain why the Benq +R worked on the original set up and not the Memorex -R also tried the Fujistu and did not work, but did on the new device setting.

Mind you I did learn alot on the Device settings. LOL it was worth the research.
