MP3 splitter problems

Hi..

I downloaded MP3 Splitter due to wanting to split a 43min track into smaller tracks but all my MP3's on my HD have the 'file type' ATI File Player as the type and Splitter can't handle this, I have looked everywhere to try to get the file types back to there correct MP3 extension with no success.

Any ideas?
