I looked and could not find another thread relevant to this topic.
After looking at all the many problem assosciated topics I am wondering if Nero is the way to go. Nero was the OEM w/ my HP lightscribe burner. When installing the suite it installs vision express first but cancels during component processing after the error "problem during installation of component Nero PhotoSnap".
I can install the Rom and other programs, but can't do much w/ DVD's w/out vision express. I installed it fine on my other system which is set up very similar to this one (Dell,XP home,sp2,office2003, adobe and macromedia bundles).
I have been at this over a week and I am going insane w/ it.
Nero's tech support isn't much help, although at least they do respond, from Germany. I spent a few hours on the phone w/ Hp and they gave up and reffered me back to Nero.
Here are some of the many steps I have tried: Uninstalled Roxio ezcd6, ran roxio zap, uninstalled nero and ran the clean tool, run registry and other tools to check for other problems, uninstalled video converters and codec packs and any thing I could think off that could conflict, tried installing in selective startup w/ all symantec products off, tried from the web site, tried copying all files from the other machine into this one. I installed the older vision express which went through the legthy transcoding process and would then crash.
Short of re-installing my entire system, I've ran out of ideas and still get the same error every time.
Any insight at all someone could give would be most greatly appreciated.
