I am a total newbie but have read a lot of infromation prior to starting and decided to get winavi and then use Nero Burning Rom to burn my DVD's.

What I need to know is, can I put more than one 45min prog. onto a DVD as there seems to be a lot of wasted space on my discs. I have been placing my completed winavi files into different folders on my hard drive but when i try to move these onto Nero it will not allow it as the files arenamed the same.

Is it a simple case of renaming the files or is there another application I should be using.

Hi M8,

I too had this problem of wasting space by burning a small'ish video_ts folder onto a dvd disc using Nero. The solution i found was to use TMPGEnc DVD Author. You need to convert all of your video files into seperate folders on the HD, eg. DVD1, DVD2, DVD3, etc.. Convert the files with WinAvi, saving each one into its own separate folder. Then in TMPGEnc, start a new project and add your first DVD Video from folder DVD1. This new file will be listed on the left. Underneath this click 'Add new track' This will allow you to select your 2nd video_ts folder.
Repeat this until you nearly fill the disc. Then along the top, you can create a menu to let you select each video as you wish, or not create a menu at all. Check the settings so that you get the player to play back all files one after another if you don't have a menu.
Hope this helps. I know that many other programs allow you to do this aswell. I just happened to go this route and it works OK for me.
p.s TMPGEnc costs money and is a trial version only. Go to http://www.pegasys-inc.com for a copy.If you know how to look in the right places you can get a naughty copy, if you know what i mean!

Cheers,
