I am new to file sharing, therefore my questions may seem lame. How much non-copyrited material is available to download? Being an old TV and movie buff, I am looking for programs and movies that may no longer be available for purchase but might possibly be found through file sharing. Any help in finding such sites, if they exist, would be appreciated.

This is actually not a file sharing related link, but I've found this site: http://www.archive.org/details/movies to be excellent for finding public domain movies.
