Go to the Photo icon on your PSP and scroll through the pictures to get to overflow.tif. You do NOT have to press anything. It will start automatically. It will be a black screen with two/three strings of letters/numbers will appear. This is normal and good.
Wait AT LEAST 30 SECONDS and then turn off your PSP by holding the power button up until it fully shuts down. Then, start your PSP again.
Make sure you have a NEW file at root of memory stick.
Now you go over to the Game icon and scroll down to memory stick. Select it and you should see the 1.5 update.

Everything is ok apart from when i turned it back on it asked me to upgrade to 1.52? as said I was version 1.0. I went to the game folder but no update to 1.5 resides there? Can u help me with this??

No one can be held resposible for your actions! If you brick your psp it is your fualt, this is a warning! you can and might brick your psp!
First off you will need the proper things to do this.
1.You will need a psp with v2.0 firmware (if you have v1.51 or 1.52 sorry but you will have to upgrade to 2.0).
2. You will need to have downloaded the (MPHDowngrader)you can find this rather easy if you know where to look.
3. You will need to download the v1.5 UPDATE (EBOOT.PBP. this is around 13mb. this also is rather easy to find.
4. You will need some way of puting these files onto the psp.(USB is probobly the most easy and best way to go.
If you cannot find these files i can send you a link where to get them. just send me a private message.
By now these are the files you should all have (mph downgrader with h.bin file, index.dat file, downgrader.txt file, and overflow.tif file these will be within the mph downgrader file, and you also should have thev1.5 EBOOT.PBP file.
Lets get started with the easy process
5.Connect the psp to the computer using what ever you use to connect the psp to the computer.
6.Make a folder named UPDATE with all capital letters in the games folder. It should look like this (psp\games\UPDATE\
7. put the (EBOOT.PBP) file into the UPDATE folder. It should look like this (psp\games\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP).
8. put the file called (overflow.tif) into the photo folder. It should look like this (psp\photo\overflow.tif).
9. put the two files called (h.bin and index.dat) into the memory stick root. For the people who dont understand where to put them it is when you first connect the psp to USB then go to my computer and open it put the files right there in the first window.
10. After you have all the files on the psp go to the PHOTO icon on the psp and click x, A black screen with some letters or numbers will come up, let your psp sit there for 30 seconds to 1 min then reboot (You will have to hold the the switch for a little bit but it will turn off).
11. Now its time to go to system settings on the psp and then system information and see that it says 1.0 or 1.50 mine said 1.0.
12. Now go to the games icon and go to the update and click it. it should come up like it did when updating the psp, just follow the instructions. when it starts downloading it will go smooth untill you get to 99% done and an error will come up. don't worry its ok just turn off your psp buy holding the switch for a while, then turning it back on.
This time when it boots it will say a lot, another error but no worries just press O , it should reboot and then you set up all your settings just like you did when you first got your psp.
Now your psp should be a v1.5 if not i dont know what u did wrong. !!HAVE FUN!! THIS WAS WELL WORTH IT THANK YOU guys that made this downgrade
PlEASE Tell me if this tutorial helped you in anyway! Thanks to all the people who made the downgrade and posted it on the internet to get. This whole process if rather nerve recking because you are not sure if your psp will take the downgrade.

PLEASE HELP...
I used the mphdowngrader to get my psp back to version 1.0. Now when I try to go to the 1.5 eboot file it says coruppted data and will not let me run the update at all. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm already half way there, my psp thinks its a 1.0. I just can't get the 1.5 eboot to run because its corrupted. What should I do??

DUDE, when you run the TIFF EXPLOIT it DOESN'T DOWNGRADE YOUR PSP YET. PLUS it is IMPOSSIBLE to dg to 1.00, only to 1.50.
What the exploit DOES is that it makes the PSP THINK it's a 1.00, so you can run the 1.50 update. YOU STILL HAVE TO UPGRADE TO 1.50. YOU ARE STILL ON 2.00.
ALso, 1.00HB won't run on 1.50, you need to use KXploit.
1.00HB = PSP\GAME\COUNTERSTRIKE
1.50HB - PSP\GAME\COUNTERSTRIKE
PSP\GAME\COUNTERSTRIKE%
So therefore first you still have to run the update to 1.50. Second is that you have to make sure you downloaded the right HB files. I'll eat your brain if you don't.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

Hey, I figured out my problem. I wasn't using CAPS to name the folder "UPDATE". After making it caps the 1.50 update was not corrupted and I was able to get it working...It worked. Thanks...

I just performed the downgrade on my PSP gigapack, its no different than any other 2.0 to 1.5 downgrade.
Just one question, can I remove the files used for the downgrade once it is complete, like can I remove the eboot and overflow and all that stuff, space on a memory stick is a hot commodity and I like saving every last bit.

APFELSAFT!!!
1. did you put evrything in teh right place?
overflow.tif in PHOTOS
h.bin and the rest in ms0:\
eboot.pbp of 1.5 update in GAME\UPDATE
2. No it AINT a mofoing VIRUS!!!! The PSP-TEAM "downgrader" claims 2b a downgrader but it bricks your PSP. SYmantec, being total phuKheads, made that EVERYTHING based on the TIFF EXPLOIT (overflow.tif, executing code...) is a VIRUS in their phUK1n6 database. The MPH downgrader is 10000000000000000000000000000000000.00000000000000% safe. I've done it 3254352325324573.00000000000 times without bricking. ANd the PSP-TEAM bricker ISNT REALLY A VIRUS ANYWAY. THE ----heads are ----ing stupid. a virus:
- spreads
- multiplies
- runs without the user making it
- mutates
IT IS RUN BY THE USER. SO ITS A TROJAN. THE USER RUNS THE MALICIOUS CODE.
It doesn't take a genius who can remember 3.1415926535.... to 1000000000000000000000 places to figure that out.
EDIT: ANd NO. I do NOT have a phuxx0r1ng ATTITUDE PROBLEM. I just HATE $ONY, M$ and $h1+MATEC.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

Hi,
I've a 1.52 psp. I thought i'd followed instructions to downgrade perfectly but I'm getting stuck, could someone please help?
This is what I've done:
I've upgraded to version 2.0 successfully. Have then copied h.bin and index.dat to the root of the memory stick. The overflow.tif went into PSP/PHOTO. The 1.50 EBOOT.PBP into the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder (UPPERCASE UPDATE and EBOOT.PBP).
Battery full and plugged into the AC. On the PSP, browse to the overflow.tif which immediately crashes - black screen with white text along the top - All OK so far. Wait 30 seconds, switch off, switch back on again, browse to see what firmware version is now running and all it says is "version". From all the tutorials I've read should this not read 1.0?
I then try the update to ver 1.50 but just get an error saying that the game is corrupt.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
