yea, it's very possible. I've never done it myself, but do a google search on psp downgrader. I did and came across this: http://www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000687060851/

Also, do a search here in a forums. Lots of people have done this, but if you run into any problems or have any questions, you'll prolly find the answers here.
