How can i set up a static ip connection on my psp?

is there a way my pc can detect my psp just through my wireless router(linksys - WRT54G)?

because theres a program called XBconnect that will allow you to play lan based psp games online against other people.


I can set up a connection with the automatic option on the psp and go online with it and stuff, but my pc wont detect it.
