Hi I have a 512MB Memory Stick Duo, however it was reading about 500MB before, after the PSP formatted it.

However now it's only reading 467MB....I've tried formatting it on the PSP and the computer and it's still reading the same 467MB...how can I fix this problem?

HUH???

That doesn't make sense...cause I have a 32MB card that came with it and it reads about 30MB, which sounds more reasonable.

How can it read as 500MB all the time after I format it and after a format another time it reads as 467MB, when it's a 512MB card??

That's a big decrease...! I formatted using the PSP and the computer and it still reads the same.

Well I don't know what to tell you. It happens same thing to my PSP. And I guess it does same thing to everyone.

Ok I understand that some doesn't read but that still doesn't explain the big drop that.

Like I said it was reading 500MB after formats, which is good but all of a sudden now it's reading only 467MB. Anyone know why or what I can do to go back to the 500MB it used to read before?

Sigh.......

"Note that "512MB" and "1GB" memory cards don't actually have 512MB and 1GB of software storage capacity respectively. Cards marketed as "512MB" actually only have 468MB of usable memory and "1GB" cards only have 969MB due to formatting overhead and differing definitions of what "megabyte" actually means. According to the storage manufacturer a MB is 1,000,000 bytes, but for software, a MB is 1,048,576 bytes. Don't be surprised when you can't fit that 500MB movie onto your 512MB card."
