any of you experts wanna help a novice ?

does the quality of a burned cd deteriorate when you fill it to the maximum ? i get jumps on mine near the end of a cd (25 songs). is there a maximum amount of songs you should burn to a cd ? how many minutes should you fill on a 700mb cd to keep the quality ? is there a "best" brand of cd to use - i`m using verbatim (i thought the were good). i burned at x4 speed because i thought the lower the speed the better (an advice will be appreciated) - cheers.
