I have a media center pc that I built with the ATI All in Wonder Card. Can i connect this to a Direct TV reciever and record content? Is there a better capture card that will interface with my Samsung SIR - TS 160 and my pc with medis center? I am not using the DVI out to my TV as my media center pc is using it to connect to my Samsung DLP TV. I want to be able to record the HDTV content as well. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.....

I too have the ATI All in wONEder card, I connect it direct to the Satelite cable via a coaxial splitter, the run another cable to the Direct TV reciever. with the ATI Media Center Software, you can watch/record tv programs and movies from PPV.

Well, mabey a bit more specific:

From dish/antennea, to reciever, to TV/splitter, and then to my ATI Card

Not for any confusion, but I took for advantage the fact that I do house wiring.
You need the reciver to descramble the signal, then the splitter to divide it between the TV and the computer. All this only capable if you have cable to go to the computer or a wi-fi broadcaster (not recomended) to recieve the signal in the computer/tv. Then you can connect the cable to the "coaxial" connector and have "Dish", or "DTV" on your computer. Also with the "s" cable adapter, you can connect a VHS to your computer and view tapes, however the ATI does recognize "macro$%#@*&^%", so it will NOT let you record "Store-bought", or "Rented" movies, but you can record personal VHS's to your hard drive and burn them to DVD
