i've got the above ps2 game but cannot get it to backup!!!!! i'm using hursty's guide (dvd decrypter, iso buster, nero) which i've used for all the other games I own and the backups all work perfectly with swap magic 3.6 but the 2 colin mcrae games i've got (2002 and 2005) never work! i don't get an error message when loading them, they just go to a blank screen - can anyone help?!
How big is the game? It shouldn't need rebuilt unless it's over 4.38GB's. Use DVD Decrypter. Burn at 4x on 8x DVD-R's. Use decent DVD-R's like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, TDK, Maxell, Sony, or Phillips. Here's a guide for DVD Decrypter: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html If that doesn't work, worry about rebuilding.
i had no problems at all with Colin Mcrae 2004
I just burned it stariat up with DVD Decrypter and it
worked fine. try using just DVD Decrypter to burn it.
as suggested burn at 4X on an 8X DVD
set to 1X for a 4X DVD
And use good media.
I just played a little of 2005 last night, very good game
and the graphics are really nice. But harder to drive then i
remember from 2004. But mine was the Xbox copy.
That is i think the single thing i like most about my new premodded
Xbox. Burn strait from the DVD Drive to the HDD and play.
No discs, no problems.
hiya, i think the game is below 4.3gb but will have 2 check when i get home. i burn at 4x to 8x dvd-r's, verbatim ones, but i will try burning thru DVD Decrypter as suggested, i have always rebuilt all my games with isobuster but it probably isn't necessary in the majority of cases anyway! i'll try it out l8r and report back, fingers crossed!!
works fine now - thanks!!! i guess i learnt something today...now to try it on micromachines whose menus keep freezing as i'm cycling through them on the backup, hopefully a simple burn with DVD Decrypter will sort that out as well!
What is everyone's opinions on the gameplay? After playing it for a little while it just seems the physics are way too arcade. The cars seem to stick to the ground, and everything just seems to happen way too fast. I really can't believe that by now they havn't got the gameplay more simulation style. I've begun to wonder if the way I've burnt the game and are using SwapMagic have somehow affected how the game runs. I was totally looking forward to playing this. But am just so let down by how cheesy it is to drive the cars. Anyone else feel this way or I am just on crack?
