Just read somewhere that it is possible to upgrade PSP to version 2, then use the WAB changer to trick PSP to v1.5 and play homebrew.

Is this correct? Anyone tried?

Would love to know then I will buy GTA.

Thanks.

Yes, you can now downgrade to 1.5 firmware and run homebrew. First you have to make sure you're running 2.0 firmware. No lower and no higher. If you go up to 2.01 you are basically screwed for now. Go to www.psp-hacks.com in the download section and get the 1.5 firmware, 2.0 firmware if you don't already have 2.0 running, and get the MPH downgrader. All 3 files are located under the "Firmware" heading. The downgrader zip contains a text file which will explain it step by step better than I can. You can also go to www.psphacking101.com and they have a video showing it being done. That was just as helpful to me as the downgrader text.

Sorry maybe I wasnt clear.

What I meant was basically can you have a V2.0 PSP(i.e. So you can play GTA)

But also can use WAB changer to trick the PSP to v1.5 and play your homebrew, without doing a proper downgrade

no. to play any homebrew you have to actually be running 1.5 firmware. now you can have 1.5 and use a program to trick your psp into thinking it's a lter version to play some games that require hugher firmwares, but not for GTA at the moment. the only reason for that is because GTA requires vertain codecs that only come in the 2.0 firmware.
