Hi, im trying to put music onto my PSP. I know how to do this but i am wandering if the PSP will play music ripped in the windows media player format. Has anyone got any ideas how i can compress my music so i can fit more onto my 1GB memory stick.

You could reencode your MP3s at a lower bitrate. However, this would be time consuming and would (depending on how low a bitrate you select) lower the audible quality of your MP3s.

Question: a gig stick should, in theory, hold over 200 songs... do really listen to 200+ songs in one sitting?

the psp will not play windows media player format unless it is firmwire 2.0 or higher. i suggest you go mp3, much smaller, same quality

My dear padowan learners it's called blaze media pro. With blaze you can compress an mp3 to 1.2MB in 23 seconds and it still sounds the same as off the cd.
