Firmware for your burner is here:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1754

It looks like it's up to version 1.20 now.

Be sure to use quality media. You might post the Nero History log (the last section of the file that begins with your name and serial number). It provides a lot of useful info. It's located as follows: Program Files -> Ahead -> Nero -> NeroHistory

Be sure to delete your name and serial number for posting.

Thank you for the reply, I noticed Nero says I have a pioneer dvd burner,but if I go to my computer it says a cd player. I'm going to reinstall it after work and see what happens. might be why the firmware upgrade says it cant find the target. as far as disks go verbatum fail and fuji fail (all i have on hand). verbatums fail outright and the fujis say they completed the burn but when you click ok the screen under says its still burning. both end up with a couple chapters on it and will play in my jvc standalone but the computers wont recognize it.
never had this much problem with a fresh o.s. install.

@actech

Post your burn log and remember to remove your Nero serial number. We can then try to figure it out.

Hey actech. By chance, do you have Nero's InCD installed. If so, uninstall it and use the InCD Clean Tool available here:

Nero.com/nero6/en/InCD_Clean_Tool.html" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://ww2.Nero.com/nero6/en/InCD_Clean_Tool.html

InCD wrecks havoc at times upon disk burning for whatever reason.

Wont have anything on that computer before long, got it formatting. I think I had it hooked up when installing xp pro, so I'm going to reinstall without it installed then install the burner after the os is up and running. I dont remember if i let incd install or not but I remember now it causes problems. It is amazing how much you forget when your computer runs for 2 yrs without a hick-up. Nero I see is updating to 7 and i ran my serial (which is 100% legal) and they said upgrade for free with a copy of your receipt. Who keeps a receipt for 2 yrs. not me, I doubt I can get that from my c.c. company since I dont remember when I got it other than it was 6.00. I thank Everyone for the help as soon as the computer is back up i'll see if it works if not I'll be back.
