Hi all,
This is my first time on here so I hope you can help.

I downloaded an MP4 movie from one of the torrent sites and don't seem to be able to view it on my PSP.

I have downgraded the software to 1.5 and am able to watch other movies that i bought pre-converted from e-bay.

Can anyone think why I can't view these downloaded MP4's? One thing I have noticed is that the movies I bought have file names "M4Vxxxxx", whereas the downloaded one has a file name of "aster-rdy". As this makes no sense to me I was hoping someone could help.

Cheers

Rename the downloaded file to M4V00001.mp4 (or whatever number you want, like M4V12345.mp4). Then it should work.

Ok, I've changed the file name to M4V00010 and when I try to play it on PSP it come up "The video cannot be played. The data type is not compatiable", yet I can play it fine on my laptop.

Anymore suggestions?

Is it definitely an mp4? I mean, the file extension is mp4? I am having a problem with a file that is an m4v extension, and it is tripping me up, so maybe I'm not the best help...

Remember the mp4 have to be place out side the psp folder in a folder named MP_ROOT if it dont work may be you have a bad mp4 file. Just get X-oom and rip your own dvd movies or movie files to mp4.
